This will be the groups first outing in almost 2-years and mounting anticipation among their loyal fans is undeniable. The tour, in support of the bands fifth and latest self-titled release (released this past August on Tim Armstrong’s own Hellcat Records) will team them up with AFI and fellow Hellcat label mates The Distillers. Well known for their kinetic, raucous stage energy, RANCID always exhibits considerable grit when it comes to playing their music live. To prepare for the tour, the members of RANCID have been rehearsing over 100 songs spanning their five albums plus some covers. “Its ridiculous to me when bands play the same songs every night, its like they’re working in a bank. Well we don’t work in no fucking bank,” says Tim Armstrong. “We want every show to be different and every night we’re going to play a different set.” RANCID’s latest s/t release has been garnering rave reviews from both critics and fans alike for its take no prisoner’s hardcore approach.
